twister

I brought back Ty the M&M twister game from Vegas, and he loves playing it with his friends. He took it to school to play with his 5th grade reading buddies, excited to play with them during their game day. When I asked him how they liked it, he said they didn't play it because they played games on DS's.  Boooo!  His little friend, Alyssa, is so incredibly flexible. We call her the contortionist.

game face

The kiddos two favorite games to play are: Old Maid and the Diego counting game.

This is the face Bex pulls when he is choosing a Diego game piece.

Every time.

And so we laugh every time.

He's keeping his eyes closed, trying not to peek inside the bag.

I love this boy.

glow-stick tag

We had a great game night with the neighborhood kids, it was perhaps the easiest and cheapest get together I've ever organized. Not to mention, the most fun. The glow sticks were definitely not in short supply, particularly when you can buy 12 for only a dollar at the dollar store. Kids and adults had a blast playing tag and burned a few calories in the process! This will definitely be repeated and we are looking forward to another weekend game night! What is your favorite neighborhood night game?

buried treasure

Just found a few gems while looking through our iPhoto library. Remember this mom and dad? I love the shape of the mid-air balloon in the first picture. We had a water balloon fight just the other day. I lost. . . terribly. I ran into the house for cover, already soaked, as the water balloon bomb that Matthias forcefully launched, exploded on the door the moment it banged shut. I swear he was aiming for my head. A refreshing treat from Indiana humidity and heat.
