tortured

This morning I was tortured. (not really, but let me tell you about it.) I am in pre-training for training for a marathon (my goal this year). Training doesn't start until next week, but the first week has and 8 mile "long run", hence the pre-training for training. My running partner mapped out our 7 miler - which was in and around campus. If any of you know the terrain of B-ton Indiana, which I think most of you do, you know that it is famous for it's hilly courses. She kept reminding me that what goes up must come down. I really struggled with all elements today. Whenever I know I have a long run, I can't sleep the night before, so I was sooo tired. My legs wouldn't wake up. It was 18 degrees out and slick roads combined with hills hills hills and lungs that were not only not use to cold weather running but also have a little case
of exercise induced asthma. I was huffing and puffing the whole time.

The only 2 great things about this run is 1- I did it! and 2- part of the run was down in the football stadium around the track outlining the field. It was so fun to run around and see the view from down on the field. It made me feel like I was an athlete!

The rest of today was great- took the boys to McD's for Happy Meals and Play Place playing with Eagan. After, my sweet friend Melissa and her daughter, Livie, took us out to a movie: The Pirates Who Don't do Anything (Veggie Tales). We had a great time and Becks clapped throughout the entire movie. Good day.

I am VERY impressed. What a success! That sounds like a cute movie too - and a good way for you to wind down.

Hey Anj! This is Jill Springer. I found your blog from Keri's. Your boys are so cute! And grown up! I trained last winter for a Spring marathon and it was pretty hard with the cold. If you go to a runner's store (or online) you can get these things that cover your mouth so you don't breathe in all the cold air. It makes a HUGE difference (especially if you have asthma). It looks kind of like the ear covers. Anyway, good for you! There's no words to describe training for and running marathons. It's incredible. Good luck!
