While at the neighborhood playground, a distressed Ty told me another kid called him an idiot. I asked him what he said back to the kid, and he said, "I don't want you to call me that." Hmmmmmm...
After telling daddy what happened at the playground that evening, realizing the weakness of the reply, dad enlisted him in a practice drill session of how to respond to such name calling. Push Play.
Ty's practicing paid off. As we were shopping (and while wearing his batman costume, surprise, surprise), another kid told Ty he couldn't be in the store, in which he replied, "Whatever dude, whatever," with the appropriate head shake. It was so funny to watch! He seemed so cool about it, and it rolled right off his back. Way to go buddy!
Life at the playground is a learning experience indeed.

My girls thought this was hilarious. I'll have to remember this for future.
Way to go Ty! Who can argue with that?
I feel bad for the "mean kid" who gets busted with this response. What can the kid say? "Uh, uh, I'm so confused, stop confusing me, who are you, where am I, what is my name . . . help!"
It is a good thing Ty has Matthias to show him the ropes. I know Matthias had a few bullies to ward off when he was in High School.
Love, love, love it! My boys are now practicing too.
He is to sweet to be mean back. How adorable!!!
