I missed most of the ceremony due to two ill-behaved kids. Beckham started complaining that he was too hot and began to take his shirt off. When I forced the shirt hole back over his head, he instantly started to scream about his body temperature. Not even a second later I realized he and his shirt were a lost cause, so I literally ran out of the ceremony with screaming Bex hoisted under one arm (football style), one of his arms hanging out of his shirt, dragging Ty along with me. It was naive of me to think it would be totally awesome for my kids to witness their dad being sworn in. Really, what was I thinking? Almost two hours of sitting through a very boring ceremony is way too much to ask of a 3 and 5 year old, especially when you have to wear a shirt.

Congratulations Matthias, we are so proud of you. Next time I have to sit through a really boring two hour plus meeting, I think I am going to try the body temperature meltdown myself. Beckham is no dummy.
