attatchments

Speaking of attachments, Beckham usually chooses one toy a day that he attaches himself to for the entire day. He plays with it at home, in the Burley, in the car, carries it in his pocket, puts it table-side while he eats, and usually falls asleep with it. I have given up on trying to take the token toy away from him when it comes to meal and bed time because it causes such a frightful scene. You know, screaming, tears, throwing body onto ground, kicking legs, death stares, flying fists, heavy and fast breathing. Today, it is a penny. He took it to church with him, and amazingly kept it with him the entire 3 hour block. Not even I can keep track of a penny for three hours.

Don't worry, I didn't let him fall asleep with it.

At least his favorite isn't something sick and slimey like a snail that he carries around with him all day.

I am bound and determined not to buy toys anymore for my kids. Who would have guessed it is the simplest thing (like pennies) that make them so happy?! Whatever works right?

At least it's just a penny: apparently I used to carry around big grocery sacks of TRASH when I was little, and Frannie has taken up the cause. Yesterday I put her on the potty with - I'm not kidding - 3 purses, a wand, two Candy Land pieces, and a baby in her arms. She'll call out from the backseat on drives: "I want somepin' else to hold."
